Ria is a dancer and teacher who became passionate about dance at the early age of six.  She started training in Ballet, Tap and Jazz and was later exposed to styles of dance that were closer to her cultural roots including Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance, Bollywood and Bhangra.

Ria is currently a part-time faculty member at Centennial College where she teaches an Indian dance course.  She is also a Groove Edgeucator who facilitates community building sessions and professional development workshops in schools to help integrate dance and movement into classrooms. Ria is a dancer for Culture Shock Toronto, a non-profit Hip Hop organization, and the co-artistic director for Culture Shock Toronto's youth troupe, Future Shock Toronto. You can also catch Ria performing and teaching fusion pieces as one half of the quirky comedy-dance duo, Giggle Queens.

Her classes are accessible, high-energy and fuse elements of Bollywood, classical Indian dance, Bhangra, and urban dance.
