Carolin Mateus

Carolin is a talented dancer, teacher, and choreographer hailing from Bogotá, Colombia. Her journey in the field of dance began in 2010 when she joined the renowned company Soulbeat. It was with Soulbeat that she delved into the world of street dance, exploring and mastering various styles under the guidance of different masters. Her training encompassed a wide range of styles, including hip-hop, waacking, house, krump, dancehall, locking, popping, Afro, reggaeton, and other supplementary training styles.

As a dancer with the company, Carolin participated in numerous competitions and performances across different cities in Colombia, consistently achieving top positions in many of them. She even had the privilege of representing Colombia in international hip-hop events such as Dunkan Dance Festival, Super Nacional Colombia Hip-Hop Dance, Golden Dance, and others.

Carolin's passion for dance led her to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, with a focus on artistic formation and specialization in dance and literature. She made notable contributions to the field of dance education by collaborating in the publication of the book "Herramientas Pedagógicas para la Danza" (Pedagogical Tools for Dance) by IDARTES in 2017.

Since 2015, Carolin has been actively working as a teacher and choreographer in various academies, schools, and government organizations in Colombia. In 2019, she relocated to Canada, where she continued to share her expertise as a teacher, dancer, and choreographer in the vibrant city of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Carolin's extensive experience, diverse skill set, and passion for dance make her a valuable asset to any dance community. Her dedication to her craft and commitment to artistic expression are evident in her performances and teachings.
